Before you call

Straight answers

Everything people usually ask, answered plainly. Can't find yours? Just ask me directly.

Getting started

Do you come to my suburb?

Almost certainly, if you're in Brisbane or Moreton Bay. See the full list — and if you're right on the edge, ring me and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth me driving out.

How soon can you come, or fix it remotely?

Often the same day. If I'm already booked out it's usually the next day, and sometimes I can fit something in that evening. Ring me and I'll tell you what I've actually got, not what sounds good.

I'm not very good with computers — is that going to be a problem?

Not at all, and you don't need to apologise for it. Describe the problem however makes sense to you. I'll explain what I'm doing if you want to know, and I won't if you'd rather it was just fixed.

What if I don't know what's wrong, just that "something's off"?

That's normal, and working it out is my job, not yours. Describe what you've noticed and I'll ask the right questions to narrow it down.

Windows, Mac — and where I draw the line

Do you work on Windows PCs?

Yes — Windows PC and laptop repair is the main part of the business, hardware and software both.

Can you fix a cracked screen, swap a battery, or do other hardware repairs?

On a Windows PC or laptop, yes — screens, batteries, drives, memory, keyboards. On a Mac, iPhone or iPad, no — I don't do Apple hardware repairs or replacements, and I'll point you toward someone who does.

Do you support Mac, iPhone and iPad as well?

Yes — setup, troubleshooting, email and iCloud, getting your devices working together. Software and support only on Apple gear; no hardware repairs.

My computer is old — is it even worth fixing?

Sometimes the honest answer is no. If a repair isn't worth it, or the machine's genuinely past it, I'll tell you plainly rather than take your money to find out the hard way.

Pricing

How much is it going to cost?

On-site is a $140 minimum covering the first hour, then $35 per 15 minutes. Remote is cheaper — $110, then $27.50 per 15 minutes. Both include GST, there's no call-out fee, and if I can't fix it, you don't pay. Full rates here.

Is there a call-out fee for on-site visits?

No, anywhere in Brisbane or Moreton Bay.

What if you can't fix it?

Then you don't pay. And if it's something I genuinely can't help with — like a Mac or iPhone hardware repair — I'll tell you who can.

Do you charge more for evenings or weekends?

No, same rate whatever the day, within my normal hours.

Remote support

Is remote support actually safe?

You start the session and approve the connection — I can't get in otherwise. You can see everything I do on your own screen the whole time, and access ends the moment we hang up.

What can you see when you connect?

Your screen, the same way you can. I don't go looking through your files and I don't copy anything off your device. If a job needs me to open something personal, I'll tell you why before I do it. More on how remote sessions work →

Do you record sessions?

No. Nothing is recorded, and nothing stays installed once the session ends.

Can you fix it without coming out at all?

Often, yes. Anything that lives inside the computer — email, software, viruses, slow performance — can usually be done remotely, Windows or Mac. Anything physical, like a hardware repair, Wi-Fi coverage or setting up new gear, needs me there.

On-site visits

Do I need to be home the whole time?

For most jobs, yes, so I can ask you questions and let you know what I've found. I'll always tell you roughly how long a job should take before I start.

Will you call before you arrive?

Yes. I'll call before I leave, so you know I'm on my way and you're not sitting around wondering.

Still have a question?

Ring me and ask — happy to talk it through before you book anything.
