How the billing actually works

Both rates cover a minimum first hour, then bill in 15-minute blocks after that — so if a job runs a little over, you're not paying for a whole extra hour.

I'll tell you what it's likely to cost and roughly how long I think it'll take before I start. Nothing happens until you're happy with that.

No call-out fee anywhere in Brisbane or Moreton Bay, and no extra loading for evenings or weekends.

If it turns out bigger than expected

Sometimes a job opens up into something larger than either of us expected. If that happens, I stop and tell you what I've found and what it'll take, and you decide whether to keep going. I won't quietly rack up hours and hand you a bill at the end.

No fix, no fee

If I can't fix the problem, you don't pay for the attempt. Straightforward as that.

Pricing questions

Is that the final price, or can it change?

The hourly rate is fixed — what can change is how long the job takes. I'll give you a realistic estimate before I start, and if it looks like running longer than expected, I'll stop and check with you first rather than surprise you at the end.

Do you charge more for evenings or weekends?

No. Same rate, whatever the day or time — within my normal hours of Mon–Fri 9am–6pm and Sat–Sun 9am–2pm.

Is there a call-out fee for on-site visits?

No. The $140 on-site rate is all you pay for the first hour — there's no separate fee just for me turning up.

How do I pay?

I'll confirm payment details with you when we book the job.

Do you charge extra for hardware repairs?

No — hardware and software are billed the same way, on the same hourly rate. The one boundary: I don't do hardware repairs on Mac, iPhone or iPad. If that's what you need, I'll tell you as soon as I know and point you toward someone who does.
