Terms and conditions
Short version: fair pricing with no surprises, a proper warranty on our work, and your consumer rights fully intact regardless of what we promise on top of them. The full detail is below.
Noble Geeks · ABN 11 616 238 932 · Last updated 4 September 2026
Noble Geeks is a one-person IT support business operating in Brisbane and Moreton Bay, Queensland — ABN 11 616 238 932. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Noble Geeks" all mean the same thing, and "you" means whoever books a job with us, for a home or a business.
By booking a job — online, by phone, or by starting a remote session — you're agreeing to these terms.
We charge two flat rates — remote support and on-site support — both covering a minimum first hour and billed in 15-minute blocks after that. Both include GST, and neither carries a call-out fee. The current rates always live on our Pricing page rather than here, so this document doesn't need updating every time they change.
Before we start, we'll tell you roughly what the job should cost and how long it should take. If it turns out to be bigger than expected, we stop, explain what we've found, and let you decide whether to keep going — we won't quietly run up hours and hand you a bill at the end.
If we can't fix the problem you booked us for, you don't pay for the attempt — straightforward as that.
This covers the specific problem you engaged us to look at. If, partway through, you'd like us to also look at something unrelated, our normal rates apply to that extra work, even if the original problem turns out to be a quick fix.
Every job comes with a 30-day warranty on the work we've done. If the same problem comes back within 30 days of the visit or session, we'll fix it again at no extra charge — including any parts we supplied as part of the original job.
The warranty covers the problem we actually worked on. It doesn't cover:
This warranty sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, never instead of them — see the next section.
Nothing in these terms, our no fix no fee promise, or our 30-day warranty replaces or limits the guarantees you already have under the Australian Consumer Law. Those rights exist regardless of what we promise on top, and we can't contract out of them even if we wanted to.
Required wording under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
If you think something's gone wrong, the fastest fix is to just ring us. If you're ever not happy with how we've handled it, the ACCC has more on your rights at accc.gov.au.
Some jobs — replacing a drive, reinstalling Windows, clearing a serious virus — carry a small risk of data loss that no technician can completely rule out, however careful we are. We take care with your files every time, but we can't guarantee against every possible failure, especially on a drive that was already on its way out.
Please back up anything you'd hate to lose before we start — photos, documents, anything without a copy anywhere else. If you're not sure how, just ask; we can help you sort out a backup before we touch anything else.
If your job is done remotely, we connect using AnyDesk, and only after you've started the session and approved the connection yourself. You can see everything we do on your own screen for as long as the session runs, and your approval only covers that session — nothing stays connected or installed afterwards.
We don't record sessions, and we don't go looking through anything that isn't relevant to the problem you've asked us to fix. More detail is on our On-Site or Remote page and in our Privacy Policy.
Plans change — if you need to move or cancel a booking, just let us know as early as you can. There's no fee either way.
For on-site visits, please be there for the time we've agreed, or call if that's no longer possible. If we arrive for a booked visit and can't reach you or gain access, we may need to treat it as a missed appointment and ask you to rebook.
We carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance, and we treat your home, your business and your equipment the way we'd want our own treated.
Outside of the consumer guarantees above — which always come first — our liability for a job is limited, to the extent the law allows, to having the job redone or refunding what you paid for it, whichever we choose. This doesn't affect any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be limited this way, and it doesn't limit our liability for anything caused by our own negligence resulting in personal injury.
These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Queensland courts.
If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top. Continuing to book jobs with us afterwards means you're happy with the current version.
Ring 0484 824 849 or email info@noblegeeks.com.au if anything here isn't clear — happy to talk through any of it before you book.
Pick a time online, or ring and we'll talk through anything in here first.
